Bath Garden Club

We are a varied group of garden lovers, but we are not all gardeners.  Some of us are Master Gardeners and some of us simply admire the beauty created by the gardeners around us.  Our activities encompass the interests and talents of everyone who would like to join us.

More About Membership

Learn from One Another

Our members help each other with questions and problems in the garden.  Some of us are Maine natives, having gardened in this special climate for decades, and the insights and tips of our experienced gardeners are happily shared with newcomers.

Attend Workshops

A continuing education is available to all of our members through guest speakers, garden visits during the summer, and hands-on workshops.

Special Projects

We maintain gardens at Library Park and the Donnell House, as well as three gardens in the Woolwich Center, and the garden at Bath's Senior Center.  We also provide seasonal flower arrangements for the Maine Maritime Museum, Meals on Wheels, and Sagadahoc Preservation's annual house tour.

Hold Special Events

Our annual plant sale, drawn from members' gardens, raises money that is returned to our community through scholarships, contributions, and conservation efforts.

Create Beautiful Spaces

We cooperate with the Garden Club Federation of Maine and the National Garden Club, Inc. in promoting projects across the state and the New England region.

Encourage Learning

We provide scholarships for students pursuing horticultural degrees, summer learning, and Master Gardener Certification.  Bath Garden Club contributes to the Kennebec Estuary Land Trust, Merrymeeting Audubon Society, and the Friends of Merrymeeting Bay in support of their efforts to promote the growth and health of our gardens, woods, and pollinators.
